Lt. Denise Spratt

Lt. Denise Spratt retired from the Louisville Metro Police Department after 23 years of service.  Her assignments included Patrol, Homicide, Internal Affairs, Training, Support Operations, Community Relations, Domestic Violence and Coordinator of the LMPD’s Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Program.  Lt. Spratt has been a Hostage/Crisis Negotiator for 19 years and up until her retirement was the Commander of the LMPD Hostage Negotiating Team. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Southern Police Institute (SPI) Administrative Officers Course.  Lt. Spratt is a certified police instructor and teaches Hostage/Crisis Negotiations and CIT across Kentucky, training thousands of police officers.  She has also been a presenter on Hostage Negotiations and CIT across the country.  Lt. Spratt is currently the Executive Director of the Kentucky Crisis Intervention Team.
