Dr. William Lohr

Dr. William Lohr is the Chief Medical Officer/Medical Director of the Dept. for Community Based Services in the KY Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Dr. Lohr is an Associate Professor in Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Pediatric Psychology, Department of Pediatrics, at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is a Distinguished Fellow for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) and American Psychiatric Association and serves on the AACAP Health Promotion and Prevention Committee, AACAP Adoption and Foster Care Committee. Dr. Lohr’s areas of interest include autism spectrum disorders, the use of psychotropic medications in children, and the health care of children in foster care. Dr. Lohr is a native of KY, attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY, and graduated medical school from Johns Hopkins University. He completed his residency training in adult psychiatry at Barnes Hospital at Washington University St. Louis, and a child psychiatry fellowship at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
